It's late February and we got at least 18 inches of snow today. This winter has been mild, but on days like today...we're reminded that this is North Idaho. When the weather man says "We will get 2-3 inches of snow today", this can also be interpreted as "We will have a blizzard today. If you live in the boonies, you may not be able to leave for days and days. Hope you have enough food and don't experience a medical emergency because no one can get to you" OR it could also mean "It's not going to snow at all". Realizing that the weather man is always wrong is the first step in accepting that we must leave the weather prediction up to ourselves.
Tonight we got stuck in the snow on our way home. At 10:00 PM. With a car full of groceries and three sleeping kids. In our "church" clothes. On a mountain road in the middle of the woods. Thankfully we had our chains and a flashlight, parents that came down to help us out...and amazing neighbors that woke up to help them out. Yes, after my parents came to help us, they also got stuck in the piddly "2-3 inches of snow" that we were supposed to get today. Sigh...Mr. Weather Man...you were just about as wrong as you could get.
